Freeland Christmas 2013, Part II

Grandma bought special wrapping paper for each grandchild. Beckett
had Thomas, of course, Cale had Buzz Lightyear, Casen had Spiderman,
and Campbell had Dora. The kids enjoyed knowing exactly which
presents belonged to them.

The weather after Christmas was so nice and we were
able to let the kids outside to run around for a bit.

Beckett got hurt playing basketball, but Uncle Chris is pretty good at "fixing" the injuries.

All I want for Christmas is...a storm shelter

Blake's parents had a tornado shelter installed a few days after Christmas. They didn't really get it as a Christmas gift, the installation just happened to fall during the time that we were all at their house for Christmas. The weather was quite chilly, so the guys stayed outside to supervise while the wives and kids "checked" on them throughout the morning.

Christmas 2013, Part I

This year, the Freeland Christmas was in Stillwater. We had such a great time with family that we do not get to see very often. There were about 20 of us who spent the night on Christmas Eve, and then many more family members joined us for lunch on Christmas Day. There were almost 50 of us eating lunch at Blake's parents' house on Christmas Day. It was a blast and the food was wonderful.

It's so much fun watching the big kids come down stairs and open presents on
Christmas morning. We did our little family Christmas at home before we left for
Stillwater, but brought Beckett a few presents to open on Christmas morning.

All he wanted for Christmas this year was a Thomas puzzle.
He was pretty excited to open it.

Oklahoma State Game

OSU Game: September 2013
OSU has recently added a giant turf field for families to play on as part of the pre-game activities. We absolutely love having a space for Beckett to run around and they set up activities just for kids. What a great idea!

Busy Times

What have we been up to lately? Here are a few random pictures from the last few months.

"Fixing" the bubble blower with a screwdriver

Butterfly exhibit at the fair
with his friends, Stella and Kate

Feeding the ducks and geese

Checkers with Grandpa

Best friends :)
We visited the zoo several times this summer, especially towards the end of the summer when it started to cool down a little bit. To be honest, I really wasn't a fan of the Tulsa Zoo in the beginning. I felt that it was entirely too spread out and had always compared it to Riverbanks Zoo in Columbia. I just wasn't impressed with it. However, it has grown on me a bit. I now like the fact that it is so spread out because I feel like we are on our own private tour every time we visit. We don't really have to share exhibits with anyone and can eat lunch without having to fight for a spot. We really have enjoyed zoo visits this summer and look forward to many more.

Beach Time

We had planned to visit Virginia Beach since it was only an hour away from our condo. However, we researched a little bit and found this little "beach" that was only about 20 minutes away and it was perfect for us. It didn't have the true beach feel that we were wanting, but it was perfect for a toddler who only wanted to play in the water for about an hour. It was also fun to watch the boats pass by in the background.
